InfoWorld: Thumper redefines storage performance

InfoWorld has published a very positive review of the Sun Fire x4500 server. The combination Thumper running Solaris 10 with ZFS scored an astounding 8.8 rating with “Excellent” recommendation.
The reviewer, Paul Venezia, kicks off his review by with a description of the server highlighting its clean design and unprecedented hard drive space. In his review, Venezia evaluated the x4500 running Solaris — mentioning that other operating systems simply did not have the file system capabilities to take full advantage of the x4500’s many drives. He states: “ZFS and the X4500 go hand in hand, seemingly created for each other in a love story rivaling anything that’s come out of Hollywood in the past 10 years.” Full Story

About Rich
FlexRex began his life as a cartoon character I created a Sun Microsystems. As the world's first "fictional blogger," he appeared in numerous parody films that made fun of the whole work-from-home thing. Somewhere along the line, the Sun IT department adopted FlexRex as their spokesman in a half-dozen security awareness films for employees. So when I left Sun recently, I started FlexRex Communications, a Marketing company in Portland, Oregon.
