Next-Generation Grid Forum this week

The Open Grid Forum is hosting a Grid Pavilion at this week’s Next Generation Data Center Conference & Expo in San Francisco. GRIDtoday spoke with OGF President Mark Linesch to find out what the world’s preeminent grid consortium is doing to address the increasing popularity of virtualization, SOA, multi-core and other next-generation technologies:
“The industry needs commercially oriented events such as NGDC that can bring the various communities and technology threads together, allowing attendees and vendors to share information, educate and interact with various solutions. This event covers quite a bit of ground, but my hope is that there will be opportunities for attendees to investigate both targeted solutions and glimpse the big picture. OGF and our Grid Pavilion partners hope to showcase the potential for grid solutions to solve real-world problems today while helping attendees make the connection that grids can be a core architectural element of next-generation datacenters tomorrow.” Full Story

About Rich
FlexRex began his life as a cartoon character I created a Sun Microsystems. As the world's first "fictional blogger," he appeared in numerous parody films that made fun of the whole work-from-home thing. Somewhere along the line, the Sun IT department adopted FlexRex as their spokesman in a half-dozen security awareness films for employees. So when I left Sun recently, I started FlexRex Communications, a Marketing company in Portland, Oregon.
