YouTube: Intel Rolls out V-Quad

Ok, this isn’t really HPC unless you count it as “High Performance Cycling.”
I missed this back in April, but the American Chopper folks have created a stunning new theme bike for Intel. Designed to commemorate Intel’s 30th aniversary in the embedded processor market, the bike features an on-board computer, fingerprint ignition, and a V-Quad (think two Harley engines sharing a crank case) engine:
This Intel-themed, fully operational concept bike is both a mechanical powerhouse and marvel of embedded technology. It was designed and built by the renowned custom motorcycle company Orange County Choppers (OCC). “It’s different from any other themed motorcycle we’ve ever done in that we were able to use Intel’s product to help control and operate the bike. We’ve never quite done anything like it before,” says Paul Teutul Jr. of Orange County Choppers. Full Story including “Build Video” and a “Virtual Chopper Ride” in Second Life.
Wouldn’t it be great if Sun had something like this? Oh wait, that’s coming. Stay tuned 😉

About Rich
FlexRex began his life as a cartoon character I created a Sun Microsystems. As the world's first "fictional blogger," he appeared in numerous parody films that made fun of the whole work-from-home thing. Somewhere along the line, the Sun IT department adopted FlexRex as their spokesman in a half-dozen security awareness films for employees. So when I left Sun recently, I started FlexRex Communications, a Marketing company in Portland, Oregon.
