Sun and NEC broaden HPC Professional Services

NEC Corporation of America and Sun Microsystems announced they will work together to provide high-performance computing (HPC) professional services in North America. The companies said that such services have, until now, been available only for large organizations. They plan to extend the offering to include mid-market companies, too.
This new collaboration builds on a long-term HPC relationship the two companies have shared. “For a number of years, Sun has worked with NEC to deliver high-performance computing professional services,” said Bjorn Andersson, director, HPC and Integrated Systems, Sun Microsystems. “This agreement will extend our marketing and sales capabilities enabling us to bring NEC’s expertise and Sun’s technology innovation to a broader market.” Full Story
