Intel Selling Optical IB Cable Division

Intel Corporation and EMCORE Corporation have signed a definitive agreement to sell its Intel Connects Cables business to EMCORE Corporation. Intel Connects Cables are drop in optical replacements for copper cabling in High Performance Computing Clusters. EMCORE intends to build the current 20Gbps (DDR) Intel Connects Cables products through 2008 and plans to continue development of future high performance interconnects, including 40Gbps (QDR) products.
